Refunds

What you are buying
One IPT account, for one person.
It does not renew. There is no subscription, no monthly charge, nothing per student per year, and no second invoice ever. You will be charged once. Where you bought it decides two things, and nothing else about your account:
| what it costs | what the charge says | |
|---|---|---|
| On the web, at app.iptmusic.com | $4.99 once | IPT PRACTICE APP |
| In the iPhone app, through the App Store | the App Store's price for your country, set by Apple | Apple's own wording, usually naming Apple rather than IPT |
The account is identical either way, on every device you sign in on.
Refunds
If something is wrong, write to us and we will sort it out. Most of what people write in about turns out to be something we can fix, and a working app is usually what they actually wanted. Where we cannot make it right, we refund. How you ask depends on which of the two tills you used, because only one of them is ours.
If you bought on the web
Write to support@iptmusic.com from the address on the account and say what went wrong. A person reads it, usually the same day. There is no form, no ticket number and no retention offer.
If it is something we cannot fix, we refund the purchase. We do not put a clock on that: a director who buys IPT in August and finds in September that their program cannot use it is exactly the case a thirty-day rule would have already shut out.
Nothing here takes away a right you have by law. If the country you bought from gives you a statutory right to cancel, that right stands whatever this page says.
If you bought in the iPhone app
Apple holds that money and Apple issues that refund. IPT cannot do it, and saying otherwise would be a promise about somebody else's system. Ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, or in Settings on your device, under your name, then Media and Purchases. Apple decides, and Apple sometimes says no.
Two things we can tell you honestly:
- Write to us anyway if you want to. We will tell you what we can see and we will not argue with you about whether you should have it. What we cannot do is move the money, because it never reached us.
- Your account follows Apple's decision automatically. When Apple refunds a purchase it tells IPT, and the account stops entitling you to start or join a studio from that moment, in exactly the way a refunded card payment does. Nothing about that is done by hand, and nothing below changes.
We would rather you had bought on the web, where the promise above is ours to keep. That is not a reason to buy there: the App Store is the right place to buy an iPhone app, and the price is the same.
What happens to your practice when you refund
Nothing is deleted, and nothing is taken away from anybody else.
A refunded account can no longer start a new studio or join another one. That is the whole of the change. Specifically:
- Every session you have logged stays logged.
- Every recording you have made stays where it is, and your instructor can still hear it.
- The studios you are already in stay yours, and you stay on their roster.
- Your instructor's record of your practice is untouched, because it is theirs as much as yours.
This is deliberate. Practice already done is a record of somebody's work, and it is not collateral in a billing dispute. If you want your data deleted as well, that is a separate request and a different document (see the privacy policy), and deleting your account removes it.
Chargebacks
This one is about a card, so it is about a web purchase. If something has gone wrong, please write to us before disputing the charge with your bank. A refund is faster, and it is not conditional on anything: there is no argument to have.
An App Store purchase has no chargeback step of ours to skip. Apple's refund request is the whole of it.
Partial refunds
There are none, because there is nothing to refund part of. IPT is one purchase of one thing at one price.
Payment problems
If you were charged and no account appeared, write to support@iptmusic.com. This is a real failure mode with a real cause: a payment that arrives but cannot be matched to an account is held rather than guessed at, and it is fixed by hand, quickly, by somebody who can see both sides.
What to send depends on where you bought, because the two payments are found in different systems:
- On the web: the date and the last four digits of the card. That is enough to find it.
- In the iPhone app: the receipt Apple emailed you, or the order number on it. IPT never sees your card and cannot search on one, so a card number would not find an App Store purchase.
